Well, I'm glad it went off, because there was plenty of time between the Teapot show and the Friendship or Chester County shows. Was over in 2 1/2 hours, but a good time seemed to be had by all. Hats off to all the faces that participated and volunteered for the show!
And for those of you that missed it, in the 2-D Pole event, every rider prior to Kailey Hayes either broke pattern or knocked over a pole. That meant they were disqualified, according to the standing rules of the Teapot Show. When Kailey took her turn, she barely rose above a trot, and walked her horse through both slaloms. Out of the last one, she sped across the line. She made her qualified, first-place run in 71 seconds, and took the prize money home.
71 seconds... gotta be a record for slowest first-place finish in poles!
